Webelos Lock-In

Webelos Lock-In is a fun-filled night of Webelos Adventures, games, and fun. There will be activities, games, pizza, movies, and more!

Who: All 1st- and 2nd-Year Webelos Scouts

What: Webelos Lock-in

When: January 5, 2019 8:30 PM to January 6, 2019 7:00 AM

Where: Hastings Family YMCA – 18th Street Location

Why: Fun, advancement, challenge, and adventure

Cost: $35 for Scouts, and $15 for adults

All 1st and 2nd year Webelos/Arrow of Light Scouts can come and have fun, earn pin requirements, play in the adventure challenge and play games. (Limited to 105 scouts)

Includes : Midnight snack, breakfast, activities and session handouts

Eight courses will be offered. Each Webelos needs sign up for two courses (3 if selecting aquanaut).

Aquanaut, Build it, First Responder, Cast Iron Chef, Building a
Better World, Aware & Care, Build my Own Hero, and Engineer.
Each session is limited to 15 Webelos. Select the classes when registering.

Aquanaut will be offered ONLY as an early bird course at 5:00 pm on January 5, 2019 at the 16th Street YMCA. Additional cost of $5; limited to 30 Webelos.

Registration Deadline: December 14, 2018

NO LATE REGISTRATIONS and NO WALK-IN’S.

Leader/Parent Info!

Webelos are not allowed entrance until 8:30 p.m. after the facility is closed to the general public. There is NOT a place for your group to wait inside so we request you do not try to enter the
building until 8:30 p.m.

Health Forms need to be completed and brought for every person attending. Unit leaders will be asked to hold onto their unit’s forms.

Two Deep Leadership – two registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities. A registered female adult leader over 21 must be present for any activity
involving female youth. There will be a quiet space for adults to sleep. No youth are allowed in that area.

Rotation Session – Parents and leaders are strongly encouraged to be involved. Please help during the sessions and guide your scouts on remembering to use scout behavior.

Aquanaut – will be offered at the 16 th Street YMCA . Please have registered youth there and ready to swim at 5:00 pm. We will  finish aquanaut before 7:00 giving the scouts a chance to eat supper with their unit before the lock-in begins at the 18th Street YMCA.

This event is designed only for Webelos. No Lions, Tigers, Wolves or Bears.

Schedule:

  • 5:00 Aquanaut (Optional)
  • 8:30 – 8:50 Check-in
  • 8:50 – 9:00 Opening flags
  • 9:00 – 10:30 First Rotation
  • 10:30 – 12:00 Second Rotation
  • 12:00 – 12:30 Pizza Break
  • 12:30 – 7:00 Open time
  • 1:00 – 6:00 Lights out in the optional rest area
  • 6:00 – 7:00 Pack up & Departure

What to bring:

  • Webelos handbook, with name in it.
  • Swimsuit/towel if signed up for aquanaut; along with a change of clothes. BSA – females are required to have a one piece/gym style swimwear. Males are required to have boxer/gym style swimwear.
  • Running shoes/socks – NO open toed shoes
  • Sleeping bag/pillow/cot/sleeping pad/air mattress/medicine (if you plan on getting any sleep!)
  • Health Form for every person
  • What not to bring: Electronics, Siblings

  1. Is this seriously on a Sunday night? Our boys would love to be part of this, but we have school on Monday January 7th.
