We offer two product sales fundraisers per year. Trails End popcorn in the fall and Virginia Diner peanuts in the spring. The Scouts BSA Handbook says, “A Scout is thrifty. A Scout works to pay his way and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves natural resources. He is careful in his use of time, money, and property. Earning your own way with money you have earned gives you independence and pride. Even if you have only a few dollars, you have enough to share a bit with others.”

Each product sale offers an opportunity for a Scout to not only raise money for himself and earn his own way, but it also gives the opportunity to raise money for his or her troop, the district, and the council. The product sale also is an opportunity to teach youth important life lessons such as setting and working towards a goal, persuasion, perseverance, and handling rejection.

We urge your unit to participate in both product sale opportunities. A well funded program is the foundation of a successful unit.
